​Apartment Casa Mijas is located on the edge of golf complex ‘La Cala Golf’, nearby the beach village of La Cala de Mijas and on a short driving distance of Fuengirola and Marbella. Play a lovely round of golf early in the morning on one of the three 18-hole loops (Europe, America or Asia) and visit the fine beach of La Cala de Mijas afterwards. Indulge in some fresh fish in one of the many restaurants there.

​Tranquillity seekers can enjoy beautiful walks in the surrounding area, for example at Mijas Pueblo the white village, which is worth a visit in itself.

​Soak up culture in Museums and Cities

​Are you interested in visiting museums or cities? Historic Malaga (37 min), Seville (2 h 15 min) or Gibraltar (1 h 30 min) are all more than worth a visit.

​Of course, shopping enthusiasts will have their fill too in these cities.

​A stroll along the Boulevard

​In summer you can stroll along the promenade of La Cala de Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos or Marbella, with its many nice restaurants and trendy beach clubs.

​Wintertime is ideal for visiting Casa Mijas. Whereas in the Netherlands it is really jacket/hat weather then, here you can still enjoy playing a round of golf, wearing your cardigan, or sometimes even, just a polo shirt will do. You can also indulge in all the facilities at the SPA of the La Cala Golf hotel, after your round of golf, in winter.

​Here, you find yourself in the centre of the Costa del Golf, as the Costa del Sol is also referred to, with 77 golf courses in Andalusia. Your apartment is situated on the grounds of the three 18-hole loops of Cala Golf and in the immediate vicinity you have plenty of choice when it comes to golf. Examples of a few nearby golf clubs : Santana Golf, Chaparral Golf Club, Calanova Golf Club and Cabopino Golf club. When it comes to golf, there is never a dull moment here! Check the tourist information for information on all golf courses in this area. Tip: Book your golf clubs at Blue Sky Golf, clubs will be delivered and collected.

​Hiking

​The hinterland of the Costa del Sol is hilly and offers beautiful natural scenery. Nearby, you can hike in the mountains of the Sierra de Mijas.

​At Cala de Mijas, a beautiful wooden decking path has been created, where you can enjoy a nice walk along the beach. The Caminito del Rey, the King's Walk, is also worth a visit. A beautiful hike through rocky terrain.

​Sights

​The white village of Mijas Pueblo Blanco is situated in the heart of the Costa del Sol, on the slope of a mountain range. The old part of the village with its whitewashed houses is typically Andalusian. Additionally, you have fantastic views of the Mediterranean here. Furthermore, you will find an old Moorish wall and beautiful gardens here. Tip: You can explore the village in an original way by a donkey taxi.

​Or discover Mijas Pueblo aboard a 100% electric vehicle (Tuk Tuk) on a sustainable and entertaining sightseeing tour. There are three different tours to choose from. How Spanish would you like it to be? You could, for instance, visit a beautiful Flamenco show. These shows take place every Wednesday at noon. However, please always check the appropriate time. A visit to Malaga’s beautiful historic city centre also is a must do. Book a bike tour with Baja Bikes and discover all the highlights of this beautiful city. Or... visit Málaga late in the afternoon, stroll through the alleys and eat outside at one of the many cosy restaurants.

​Children

​The donkey taxi started as a tourist attraction in the 1960s. The workers returned home on their donkeys and were photographed by many tourists. It turned out that the tip they received was more than their daily wage, hence the birth of The Donkey Taxi Service
In less than 15 minutes you drive to Aquamijas. Here you find 34,000 square metres with: wave pools, water slides, playground and picnic areas.

​And naturally, you can also take the kids to the beach! Build a nice sandcastle together, that will keep them busy all day long.

​Museums

​There are also some interesting museums in Mijas. At the Historical Museum, you can find all sorts of things from the Mijas of yesteryear, like agricultural and fishing tools, oil mills and a wine cellar. The Caravan Museum is a museum showcasing a miniatures collection. Everyday materials have been used to create the miniatures, such as crayons, soap bars, pins, toothpicks etc. 

​The CAC (Contemporary Art Centre) museum in Mijas is a contemporary art museum with more than 400 artworks by first-rate artists such as: Pablo Ruiz Picasso and Salvador Dali. And then we have the "Torre Batería" in La Cala, popularly known as "Torreón de la Cala" also known as The Watchtower, with three exhibition halls: the Coastal Guard, Homage to Freedom and the Hall of Traditional Fishing.

​Markets

​Several days a week, there is a variety of markets that you can visit in Cala de Mijas: a traditional market, a handcraft market and an organic market.
