5 x Rooftop Bar in Málaga

In September 2024, we decided to take a trip to sunny Málaga. It was the perfect opportunity to visit some rooftop bars and admire the most beautiful views over the city. Although we visited these places during the day, we can imagine they’re even more spectacular at night, with the twinkling lights of the city and the sea in the background. And after a day in Málaga, a rooftop bar is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

After strolling through the charming streets of Málaga, filled with culture and attractions, visiting a rooftop bar is the perfect way to unwind. High above the city’s hustle and bustle, you can relax with a delicious drink while enjoying panoramic views. It’s the ideal place to rest your feet and reflect on the day’s impressions, with a gentle sea breeze and the city laid out before you.

Here are our five favorite rooftop bars in Málaga!

H10 Croma Hotel

At the H10 Croma Hotel, we had a lovely time chatting over a coffee, gazing dreamily over the city. The sunsets from this spot are said to be breathtaking, making it the perfect place to end your day.

Roommate Valeria is situated a bit lower than other rooftop bars, but it’s definitely worth a visit. The view of Málaga’s harbor is unique, and the atmosphere on the terrace is very cozy. This bar has an intimate and welcoming vibe, making it a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Terraza San Juan

A slightly more hidden gem is Terraza San Juan, a cozy rooftop bar that’s a bit more sheltered and perhaps less known to tourists. This makes it a delightful place to soak in the local atmosphere without too much hustle.

Rooftop Bar Batik offers a stunning view of the Alcazaba, an impressive Moorish fortress similar to the famous Alhambra. Batik is a place where you can only enjoy drinks – no lunch or dinner options – but the panoramic view more than makes up for it.

AC Marriott

Lastly, we visited the highest rooftop bar in Málaga: the one at the AC Marriott. From here, you truly have a 360-degree view of the city. On one side, you can see the harbor, the park, and the Mediterranean Sea, and on the other side, the historic center and surrounding mountains. The view is simply spectacular, and visiting this rooftop bar is a must during your trip.

Bonus Tip:

In addition to these beautiful rooftop bars, it’s definitely worth visiting the Alcazaba in Málaga. This Moorish fortress, built on the slopes of the Gibralfaro mountain, offers stunning views over the city. Of all the Alcazabas in Spain, the one in Málaga is the best-preserved. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in history and culture, and of course, for those who love a fantastic view.
