There is a well-equipped kitchen with views of the countryside. French doors open on to the spacious terrace, which is situated on the sunny south side. An outdoor open fireplace and a wood-burned sauna and Jacuzzi are ready for you. Can you picture yourself indulging in a glass of wine in the seating area next to the wood-burner? Naturally, free WIFI is included.

​De Bollenstreek

​Hiking, cycling or boating

​Holiday home Ruigenhoek is situated in the heart of the Bollenstreek region, close to the seaside resorts of Noordwijk and Zandvoort. Enjoy a bracing walk on the beaches of Langevelderslag (4 kilometres) and Noordwijk (10 kilometres), or enjoy some undisturbed hiking, cycling or horse-riding through the long stretch of dunes and forests. In spring the beautiful colours of the tulips, daffodils and hyacinths in this area are a feast for the eyes!
For those who prefer some peace and quiet the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen nature reserve (ca. 3,400 ha). is only a 10 minutes’ walk away. Be amazed by its beautiful flora and fauna while you walk your way through it towards the beach of Langevelderslag or the town of Zandvoort. A visit to the Kagerplassen lakes, near the town of Warmond, also is highly recommended. From here you can sail to the city of Leiden with a sloop.

​Are you more interested in visiting museums and cities?
The historic city of Haarlem, the university city of Leiden and the capital of culture, Amsterdam, can be easily reached by car or public transport. These cities also are a paradise for shopping lovers. 

​A stroll along the Boulevard

​In summer you can stroll along Noordwijk’s boulevard with its many cosy restaurants and trendy beach clubs or enjoy Noordwijk aan Zee’s vibrant nightlife.

​Enjoying the beach in autumn

​Autumn and winter time are perfect for a bracing walk on the beach at Langevelderslag. Indulge in a delicious cappuccino at Beachclub Nederzandt and relax to the max in your own sauna or at the outdoor fireplace.

​Flowers

​Here, you find yourself in the heart of the Bollenstreek area. In springtime, a visit to the Keukenhof is an absolute must! In spring there is a beautiful flower parade. The decorated floats can also be admired on the following Sunday. A cycle tour through the Bollenstreek area is also highly recommended.

​Dining out

​In our street Café-Restaurant De Ruigenhoek is located, a cosy pub, offering a simple menu.
At golf club Tespelduyn (c. 2 kilometres) you can enjoy lunch, high tea, high wine or exclusive dining.
Beachclub Nederzandt and Noordwijk’s many beach clubs are highly recommended too. 

​Fancy fine dining? Indulge yourself at Het Oude Dykhuys. Make sure to book early in summer and on bank holidays.

​Boating

​At the Olympia Charters in the village of Warmond you can hire your own sloop. Or hire a canoe or kayak at Zuivelboerderij Pennings and sail to Leiden on the Kagerplassen lakes, to discover this beautiful part of The Netherlands.

​Children

​Linnaeushof , in the village of Bennebroek, is Europe’s largest playground. In the village of De Zilk is a free playground at Hoekgat 41.
On bad weather days you can go to indoor playground Kidszoo or go ten-pin bowling at the Flamingo Partycentrum, both in Noordwijkerhout.
Interested in space travel and the universe? Visit the Space Expo in Noordwijk. Museum Naturalis in the city of Leiden, offers a fascinating view on the evolution of life on earth.
Museum Corpus in the village of Oegstgeest, close to Leiden, is much worth a visit too. At Corpus you can experience ‘a journey through the human body’.
Amusement and water park Duinrell is perfect for an active day out. Or visit Artis in Amsterdam.

​Discover art work of old masters in the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, learn more about Anne Frank's history in the ‘Achterhuis’ in Amsterdam, or visit the impressive Rijksmuseum.
Don’t forget either to take a canal tour in Amsterdam. 

​For those who are interested in WWII, the Atlantikwall Museum in Noordwijk is much worth a visit.
